Academic profile

Professor at the Architecture’s Faculty, University of Lisbon and a research fellow at CIES-IUL. She holds a Ph.D in Social Sciences (2007) from the University of Lisbon ICS-UL; a Master Degree in Sociology from FLUP of the University of Porto (1997); and graduated in Sociology (1992), from the same institution. At present, she coordinates two research projects:”Diagnostic study on the situation of the immigrant population resident in the municipality of Sesimbra” and “Characterization Study of the Immigrant Population resident in the Oeiras District”. Also, she collaborates in other projects in Lisbon at CIES, UTL and UL, and has published several articles in national and foreign scientific journals. Her main research interests include poverty and social exclusion, in margilanized territories as well as youth, cultural practices, Gypsies and immigration.
