Qualifications in Humanities from La Sorbonne, then BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics (Oxon), then post graduate degrees in Social anthropology (Cambridge and Oxford). Not the linguists’ malicious caricature. Other books on S. de Beauvoir and ‘Anthropology and Autobiography’. Latest 2012 book ‘Anthropological Practice: fieldwork and the Ethnographic Method’ based on dialogues with over 20 anthropologists of 16 nationalities concerning their fieldwork experiences completed around the world.
