The seminar “Gender, Ethnicity and Class in Roma Studies: Whither Intersectionality?” organised in the frame of the Supporting Roma in Academia actions took place in Cluj-Napoca between 11 and 14 April 2013. The seminar has been attended by four lecturers (Dr. Iulia Hasdeu, Dr. Catalina Tesar, Dr. Elisabeth Tauber and Gergo Pulay) and 10 MA and PhD students of Romani background.
In addition several local and international guest participated in the workshops among them Dr. Martin Olivera, anthropologist from Paris, who attended the presentation of his book translated to Romanian. The program of the seminar included presentations by the lecturers, a series of master classes which offered opportunity for the students to present their work and discuss with their colleagues and lecturers. The seminar was concluded by a roundtable discussion with local specialists from Cluj. The detailed program can be downloaded here.
