Access of Roma to housing: Housing First vs Housing Ready, Prague, 21-22 October 2014
The workshop on 21 October was dedicated to discussions around the Housing First approach and attended by social scientists, social workers, and people in housing need. The conference on 22 October, hosted at the government palace, gathered some 84 high-level politicians including the chief advisor to the Prime Minister, the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs and the Deputy Minister of Human Rights, Roma leaders, social scientists, social workers, NGOs, etc. The Housing first vs Housing ready debate and arguments presented at the conference will be directly incorporated into in the draft Czech government Social housing concept prepared by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. The events are part of a series of workshops funded by the RAN within the framework of the call for proposals for Bridging the Gap between Academia and Policy Makers.
