Academic profile

Within the framework of the Institute for Balkan Studies, Belgrade developed and guided three multidisciplinary projects “Ethnolinguistic and sociolinguistic research of refugees and multiethnic communities in the Balkans” (2002–2005); “Ethnic and social stratification of the Balkans” (2006–2010) and “Language, Folklore, Migrations in the Balkans” (since the beginning of 2011). Currently leading two bilateral scientific projects of Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts: “Linguistic anthropology and sociolinguistic research of the Serbian and Romanian Banat” (with Romanian Academy of Sciences, co-leader Maria Marin), and “Labour Migrations in the Balkans” (with Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, co-leader Petko Hristov). Since 2009 as a professor at the MA and PhD Gender Studies at the University of Novi Sad (subjects “Gender and ethnicity” and “Linguistic anthropology of gender and ethnicity”). Edited collections of papers  reflect scientific interest in minorities, especially Romanian language speakers (Romanians, Vlach, Bayash and Roma): “Hidden Minorities in the Balkans”, Belgrade 2004, “Refugees’ Kosovo”, Kragujevac 2004, “Life in the enclave” Kragujevac 2005, “The Bayash of the Balkans, Identity of an Ethnic Community”, Belgrade 2005, “Kurban in the Balkans”, Belgrade 2007, “The Romance Balkans“, Belgrade 2008, “Animal Sacrifice. The Transformation of a Ritual”, Belgrade 2008, “Bayash in South-Slav Context”, Novi Sad 2011.
