Academic profile
David Thurfjell's work deals with religion and empowerment. Based on interviews and participant observation, he explores how religious language and ritual practices are used to express, explain and change societal marginalisation. He has studied this aspect of religion both among Iranian Muslims and Kaale Roma in Sweden and Finland
