Academic profile
I made fieldwork researches on Roma communities from rural Romania starting with 1999, being generally interested in social facts as ethnic identity formation, ethnic, social and residential segregation, social exclusion as well as in the economic strategies of different Roma groups during post-socialism. More precisely, I worked with the Caramidari Roma from Salaj County in 1999, with the Gabor Roma from Mures County in 2007 and with the Ursari Roma from Teleorman county in 2011. As a result of these researches I wrote a number of studies, I gave conferences at different universities (see CV), and I produces a university course with the title “Roma Minority in Central and Eastern Europe” that I taught between 2005 to 2010 at BBU in Cluj and, as invited professor, at UCLA in 2009. |
