Academic profile
My main field of interest is the Romani migration from Romania to Spain originated by the fall of communist regime. I have been researching, with the ethnographic approach, on a Transylvanian Romani group migrated to Andalusia (where I conducted my fieldwork) as well as in other European and American countries. Local, international and transnational dimension of the social organization of the community have been the central topics, analysed through the role that kinship and internal juridical phenomena and rituals play.
I have been carrying on fieldwork for the Romani Project in Romania and Italy to document Sinti, Churara/Korturare, Spoitori, and Molisani/Abruzzesi dialects.
Management of diversity and social inclusion are other topics on which I have worked as observer monitoring the effects of public policies in urban areas with high population of Spanish Gitanos and characterized by poverty and social inclusion.
My present position is as researcher in different European projects on migration policies regarding educational and vocational training and inclusion of migrants in labour market.
