Academic profile

Till now I have been studied historical and ethnographic aspects of the community of Moldavian Roma. Therefore, 11 ethnographic communities of Moldavian Roma have been identified: „lingurari”, „curteni”, „ursari”, „chiocanari”, „chiurari”, „catunari”, „lautari”, „popeshteni”, „laiesh-brazdeni”, „laiesh-chiori”, „laiesh-cheache”. For the first time in the Republic of Moldova have been investigated geographical location, social relationships, traditional occupations specific to their communities, unknown to the international scientific community. The results achieved by the researchers of the Group „Ethnology of the Roma” contribute to the development of world science – Romology – and promote cultural values of the ethnographic heritage of the Republic of Moldova. At the same time these researches facilitated the elaboration of the Action plan to support the Roma population of the Republic of Moldova (2011-2015) by the govenment authorities.
