Academic profile
I am a final year PhD researcher in Political Theory working with Eastern European Roma in London. My work focuses on how the situation of Eastern European Roma in the UK challenges the value oriented concept of citizenship. I argue that racism against Roma is embedded in liberal politics and that the policies taken have a paradoxical effect on the situation of Roma.
I am working with Eastern European Roma communities (mostly from Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Poland) in London since 3 years.
Besides I having worked with Roma communities in Italy, Romania, Hungary, Czech Republic, Germany and the UK for several years now, I worked for the Mediterranean Institute for Gender Studies with trafficked women from Eastern Europe in Cyprus.
