Academic profile
The project I`m currently carrying out and the related projects I`m participating in are in general devoted to the phenomenon of multiculturalism in general and its expression in the Balkans. My case study comprises the study of complexes of beliefs and rituals of various Rroma communities in the region. My aim is to distinguish the content of the local religious traditions in the frameworks of great traditions in order to recognize the contemporary processes of transformation and construction of new religious traditions. This topic is concerned with several social disciplines proposing an interdisciplinary approach including religious studies, anthropology, folklore studies etc. My research is based on the field studies held during the last three years in different Rromani communities in Serbia, Bosnia&Hercegovina and Macedonia.
