Academic profile

Over the last two decades I’ve been actively involved in research in the field of Romani Studies, particularly educational issues, culture and identity. I have both research and practical experiences in the field of Roma educational and general policies and since the last couple of years I started working on a PhD thesis Roma Customs and Rituals in Central and Westerns Bulgaria under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Elena Marushiakova. In the 90s I implemented individually and as a team member a number of research projects on collection of Roma folklore, on Romani language research and other (such as RomLex database). As a researcher I published a couple of books on Roma culture and oral history. I also contributed to development of methodological tools for Roma children education (in Bulgaria and countries of CoE and EU).
