Academic profile

Throughout my master studies of social anthropology at the Comenius University in Bratislava, a part of my studies was also my first field research held from 1^st of July 2010 – 31^st August 2010, taking a place in the area inhabited by the Roma minority in the Slovak city Košice. These data subsequently create a part of my thesis, defended on 31^st May 2011, dealing with the effects of integration of the Roma minority. Then I became a member of the research team within the project "Models of integration of the Roma minority" of Comenius University, supported by a grant of the Government of the Slovak Republic. During the period running from 21^st July 2011 – 31^st August 2011 I participated on the second field research in the same area, focusing on social conditions and the success of integration of the Roma minority. Now I am a doctoral student at the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences, dealing with Social Capital of the Roma in concentrated urban environments. My thesis is associated with the planned field research of several months in Hungary, which could provide useful data for comparison of the local situation with the situation in the Slovak Republic, defined on the basis of data from previous researches.
