Academic profile
As a political scientist, my interest lies in understanding and explaining how
Roma has become an increasingly significant political phenomenon in recent years. This includes the motivations and mechanism underlying Roma self-organisation, political activity, but also the development of explicit Roma policy frameworks, policies and programmes, and the wider public discourse of Roma. I am particular interested in the relationships between civic and ethnic identity, minority status and citizenship. This includes analysis of the internationalisation/Europeanisation of Roma politics, policy and related discourses.
