Brief introduction

Academic profile

My main area of interest is the relation between control agencies and national minorities, specifically police – Roma communities. I am researching the integrated actions for long-term sustainable inclusion (social, economic and political) of citizens of Roma ethnicity and the most effective mechanisms to prevent and fight their discrimination and exclusion. Starting from security as a pre-requisite for development, I am incorporating and applying research in projects funded by different donors, designing actions aimed at building a policing by cooperation environment and facilitating local ownership in the provision of safety, primarily, but also other basic services in order to ensure a full citizenship. Currently, I am preparing my PhD application for a programme in criminology with a theme focusing on criminalization of Roma in rural settings in Romania.
