Academic profile
I am interested in public policy research initiatives which may influence policy developments and advancement of people`s lives and especially their socio - economic integration into mainstream society. Recently, I have developed a keen interest in assessing the accommodation needs of Romani people (particularly of the Traveller community) in England and across Europe. The aim is to investigate how local government policies impact on provision of culturally suitable accommodation for this group. Assessing site provision/ adequacy among the Traveller community is an area of particular interest to me. This involves examining local government planning policies on areas such as Greenbelt protection policies and how national governments can strike a sustainable balance between meeting Traveller`s needs, public interest and protecting Greenbelt land.
