Brief introduction

I am a Doctoral Researcher at the Institute for European Studies (IES) and the Department of Political Science of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). I am part of the joint research programme Evaluating Democratic Governance in Europe (EDGE) and the IES cluster Migration, Diversity and Justice. I am also a member of the VUB "RHEA Centre of Expertise on Gender, Diversity & Intersectionality". My PhD research project investigates the Europeanization of Romani Women Policies and Politics in Central and Eastern European Member States. In July 2013 I obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in EU Law on Immigration and Asylum by the Odysseus Academic Network at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). I hold a MA in International Politics and Relations from the University of Pisa (Italy) and a BA in International Communications from the University for Foreigners of Perugia (Italy). During my Master, I spent a year in Paris (France) as Erasmus student at the Department of Hautes Etudes Internationales (HEI) of the Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales (I.Na.L.C.O.). From 2009 to 2012 I worked in the International Development Co-operation sector in the Western Balkans and coordinated Humanitarian Aid interventions in Eastern Africa.
