Nordic Meeting, 8-9/2014

The Nordic Meeting of Network members was held on 8-9 December 2014, in Stockholm at Södertörn University / Centre for Baltic and East European Studies (Sweden).

Swedish and Finnish members of Romani Academic Networks, as well as Swedish Roma activists and representatives of the Finnish National Board of Education, met at Södertörn University / Centre for Baltic and East European Studies (Sweden) on 8-9 December 2014. During the two days, six oral presentations were held dealing with questions of Roma education, Pentecostalism, music, the image of Roma in films and strategies of Romani Studies in the Nordic countries.  The presenters were PhD, Docent Kaj Åberg, PhD, Docent Kimmo Granqvist, MA Angelina Dimiter-Taikon, MA Elissavet Kaltsidou, Phil.Lic. Susanna Rajala, MA Raluca Bianca Roman, and PhD Christina Rodell-Olgaç. Additionally, discussions were carried out on Roma education, prejudices and stereotypes on Roma and future perspectives of Romani Studies.
