Academic profile

My primary area of academic interest – as well as the previous professional experience – is the Roma social inclusion policies, particularly the housing policy and housing interventions as a new paradigm of inclusion. I have devoted my last years to monitor and assess the latest developments in the field of public policies for Roma inclusion, mainly in Romania, under the international initiative Decade of Roma Inclusion. This work experience is continuing with my doctoral thesis on the analysis of the barriers for Roma in accessing the housing rights. I have collaborated for eleven years with many Roma NGOs in Romania. I have published two country reports on the progress report of the Romanian policies towards Roma inclusion, as well as a report on the Roma political participation and contribute to a report following a fact finding mission in Italy, following the attacks against Roma in major cities in 2008
